Angus Australia would like to make Angus breeders aware that researchers at the University of Sydney, in association with the Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI), recently published a paper identifying the identification of a genetic condition in Angus and Angus cross cattle known as Niemann-Pick Type C disease.

As part of the release of the mid December 2020 TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation (TACE) on Friday 11th December Angus Australia implemented changes to the selection indexes published on Angus animals.Â
2021 TACE Submission Deadlines
The submission deadlines for inclusion in each TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation (TACE) analysis during 2021 are outlined in the table below.
All submissions must be received by Angus Australia before 5pm on the submission deadline for guaranteed inclusion in the analysis.
Annual Enhancements to TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation – December 2020
Members are advised that a number of enhancements have been implemented into the analytical software that is used to calculate Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) within the mid December 2020 TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation. Â

Collecting structural scores on Angus animals
Structure can be an important component of a breeding program, with structural scores accepted for animals less than 750 days of age, for inclusion in TACE, or mature females as part of recent work into Research Breeding Values (RBVs).
